In partnership with The New York Times Op- Docs, DOCSP opens a new activity.
Five documentary projects presented in the industry calls: Doc Lab, Rough Cut Lab and One on one meetings, will be invited to participate in a laboratory for short documentary films.
What makes a great short? What are publishers looking for in the crowded online space? And what is the process for working with a major platform like the New York Times?
In this workshop with the Supervising Editor of the New York Times Op-Docs, selected filmmakers will present their films in development for discussion and critique, and participate in a broader conversation about the art and craft of the short documentary.

The New York Times Op-Docs
The New York Times Op-Docs is the world’s premiere short documentary series, having published more than 250 short, interactive and virtual reality documentaries by independent filmmakers. The goal of each Op-Doc is to use a creative visual approach to present a truly unique story, character, argument or point of view — and to start a conversation among our global audience.
