The Executive Production Lab is a program to producers who are interested in working internationally. The activity has two parts, starts with a Master Class and is followed by a laboratory to deep in the work of an executive producer and in how to develop projects for the market abroad. Mike Lerner (UK) has been making films since 1988 for BBC, Channel 4, BFI, HBO, PBS, Discovery Channel. His filmography includes: The Great Hack, The Kleptocrats, The Russian Woodpecker, Pussy Riot, The Square. He has won a number of industry awards including, 2 Academy Award Nomination for Best Documentary Feature,  6 Sundance Awards (Grand Jury, Special Jury, Best Director, Audience, Cinematography) , EMMY Award for Best Documentary, 2 Grierson Awards for Best Documentary.

4th November: Master Class of  Executive Production  (*)

Schedule: 10:00am to 13:30pm | Venue: Theater, Unibes Cultural.

Mike Lerner wil share his vision about the documentary market situation today, and will pass through his most important productions, that higlhlighted his carrer as an executive producer.

4th – 5th November:  Executive Production Lab 

Schedule: 4th november from 2:30pm to 6pm and 5th november from 10:00 to 13:30.  Venue : 2º floor, Unibes Cultural.

In this activity, Mike Lerner will deep in the work of projects development, financing, negotiation, giving a clear perspective of the work flow of an executive producer since the beginning stage until distribution. He will also share relevant examples and challenges that came up in some of his productions to obtain financing, sales, coproductions, and reputation in the international market.

The Master Class will be part do DOCSP Seminars and will have simultaneous translation from English- Portuguese. The Lab of 4th and 5th November will be in English.
